If you are in the thick of the chaos of youth sports in America, here is my advice, TAKE A DEEP BREATH...everything is going to be okay & believe it or not, you will miss this crazy time in your life! Bussing kids here to there while trying to maintain any sort of a normal life can be overwhelming. I've been there! I was a youth soccer Club Administrator and Team Manager, so I get it! And now you have to worry about recruiting on top of everything else!

How many more balls can you juggle? I can still feel the stress of it all.

With my daughter Molly, we were uneducated on the whole recruiting process. Like so many other families, we were relying on the club & coach to connect us to interested programs. It wasn't until later we realized we were missing the big secret...YOU can get YOURSELF recruited by marketing yourself! Some people have the time and know how to do it all themselves, some don't. We are here for those who struggle, you are OUR people! With all of the metaphorical balls you are juggling in your life, toss this one to us, we got you!

Then we met Miriam

I spent years as a head manager for multiple youth soccer clubs in the Metro-Detroit area while my kids were growing up. One of the greatest privileges during that time was managing for an A-Licensed coach, Miriam Hickey, who later went on to join U.S. Soccer to direct the first Girls’ Development Academy in 2017. I learned so much from her and our amazing group of players and parents, I truly loved that team!

Having played soccer myself growing up (though there’s little footage to prove it!), I started creating highlight videos for our team each season. The players loved watching them, and we all treasured those memories. As the girls grew older, I began making individual recruiting videos to help them showcase their talent and pursue their dreams of playing in college.

The very first recruiting video I made was for Michelle Cooper, who committed to Duke University, went pro as a sophomore, and was later drafted by the Kansas City Current, where she’s absolutely thriving! She was even rostered for the U.S. Women’s National Team for the SheBelieves Cup in February 2025, earning two caps and scoring a goal and continues to be called into camps. It was such a gift from God to have been on the same team as Michelle growing up. Not only did she make creating team highlights so much fun, but she’s also an incredible person on and off the field, we will forever be her biggest fans!

Michelle’s mom introduced me to her friend Bryn, whose daughter Kayla was a freshman soccer player looking for help getting noticed through highlight videos and social media graphics. That connection turned out to be another blessing.

Bryn and Kayla became my “testers” as we tried new ideas, designs, and strategies, celebrating every bit of progress together. I’ll never forget the excitement when June 15 arrived and Kayla’s phone started ringing at midnight with calls from college coaches! She eventually committed to Oklahoma State University, we also helped her sister who committed to Kalamazoo College in 2024. We couldn’t be happier for their family.

As Bryn shared our work with other families, word spread quickly, and just like that, Elite Recruit Shop was born! Today, we continue to grow as more athletes trust us to help them stand out. Every time we hear about another commitment, it’s a moment of pure joy.

Our family never actually completed the recruiting process. Molly suffered an ACL tear before her season even started sophomore year, and then a second tear on her opposite knee a year and one week later. After her rehab, COVID hit and she was never able to fully recover. She played her final season of high school soccer her senior year and after losing in the State Championship, she decided to hang up her cleats. 🥲 She spent a year at Michigan State University, but was having trouble deciding what she wanted to do with her life. So that got me thinking...

In a leap of faith (some might call it crazy 😆), I went all in, quit my job, built this website and her & I jumped headfirst into growing this business together, all to help athletes chase their dreams of playing at the next level!

We’re creating our own dream, helping players showcase top moments on video, making them look like pros in custom graphics, and constantly finding new ways to simplify the recruiting process for everyone. Every day, we wake up excited to do what we love, and we’re incredibly grateful to each and every one of our clients for allowing us to be part of their journey!
